Uttarakhand Secretary General has announced that schools from Class 6 to Class 11 will be reopened from February 8.
All schools and colleges have been closed since last March due to corona fears. As the Board Examinations approached, State Governments allowed schools to open only before the upper classes. In this situation, the first schools for 10th and 12th class in Uttarakhand were reopened last November. There was no announcement of school opening for other classes.
In this situation, the Uttarakhand State Cabinet has decided to start the first classes for classes 6 to 11 on February 8. With this decision of the cabinet, the State Government has ordered schools to start direct classes for students in classes 6 to 11. The schools for these classes will start from February 8.
Chief Secretary of State Om Prakash has also announced preventive measures for schools. Accordingly, he asked the schools to adhere to the rules of regular cleaning of classrooms, examination of students’ body temperature, wearing of teacher and student masks, and observance of social space and appointment of officer to monitor these practices.
