National Testing Agency conducts the UGC-NET exam for Junior Research Fellowship and eligibility for Assistant Professor. Earlier, the board has planned to conduct the UGC National Eligibility Test December 2020 Cycle (May 2021) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The exam was scheduled from 02 May 2021 to 17 May 2021. Candidates who applied for this exam were waiting for the exam admit card. At the same time, due to COVID 19 Second Wave, various board exams, recruitment exams were postponed and canceled. Union minister announced that the UGC NET was postponed due to COVID 19 second wave. He tweeted that “Keeping in mind the safety & well-being of candidates and exam functionaries during #covid19outbreak, I have advised @DG_NTA to postpone the UGC-NET Dec 2020 cycle (May 2021) exams.” Looking at the present situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of the candidates this board took this decision.
