RailTel Launches Paid WI-Fi Plans at 4,000 Stations: RailTel has introduced prepaid Rail wire Wi-Fi plans at over 4000 railway stations across India. Passengers will be able to use 30 minutes of free Wi-Fi every day at a speed of 1 mbps at these 4073 railway stations in the future. The customer must choose a plan with a higher speed for a nominal fee in order to use the Wi-Fi facility at a higher speed of up to 34 mbps said an Indian Railways press release on Thursday. CPlans can be purchased online using a variety of payment methods such as net banking, wallets, and credit cards.
The cost is Rs 10 for 5GB per day, Rs 15 for 10GB per day, Rs 20 for 10GB/5 days, Rs 30 for 20GB/5 days, Rs 40 for 20GB/10 days, Rs 50 for 30GB/10 days, and Rs 70 for 60GB/30 days. This can be paid through net banking, wallet, or credit card online. Currently, internet service is available at over 5,950 stations across the country, and anyone with a Smartphone and an internet connection can use it.

RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), a Mini Ratna (Category – I) Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has begun providing high-speed Wi-Fi service at railway stations with the aim of turning them into a forum for digital inclusion.
