J&K Lieutenant Governor is launching a super-75 scholarship scheme for meritorious girls: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched a super-75 scholarship scheme for meritorious girls. The scholarship scheme was revealed on 8 March on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2021. On International Women’s Day, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the launch of the Super-75 scholarship scheme to support the education of well-deserved girls from poor families, so that they can excelle in the fields of medicine, engineering, ITI (Industrial Training Institutes) and humanity and contribute to nation-building. This is in line with the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, i.e. “Choose to Challenge” and the celebration of Azaadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav-India@75.
Strengthening Women Entrepreneurs Ecosystem in J&K, the Lt Governor also announced a new scheme-Tejaswini under Mission Youth, to provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakhs to girls between the ages of 18 and 35 to start their company. Recognizing the importance of women in the economic growth of J&K, the Lt Governor stressed the need to concentrate more on key areas such as establishing a supportive environment; developing women entrepreneurs skills; promoting financial assistance; providing women entrepreneurs with a global marketplace and connecting them with innovative products. To lay a strong foundation for girls, no fee will be paid to the twelfth level from 5,89,000 girls students who have been admitted to different government-run schools, the Lt Governor said.
