Indo-Uzbekisthan field training exercise 'DUSTLIK II' commences in Ranikhet, Uttarakhand.

The validation exercise will help as a test bed for soldiers from both armies, as they will be put through the paces of real-world operations.

The joint military exercise “DUSTLIK II” between India and Uzbekistan is currently underway in Foreign Training Node Chaubatia, Ranikhet (Uttarakhand). The annual bilateral joint exercise of both armies is now in its second edition. It is scheduled to run until March 19, 2021. In November 2019, Uzbekistan hosted the first edition of the exercise.

The exercise includes 45 soldiers from Uzbekistan and the Indian Army. Under the UN mandate, both contingents will share their experience and skills in the area of counter-terrorism operations in mountainous/rural/urban scenarios.

On March 17 and 18, 2021, the exercise will culminate in a 36-hour joint validation exercise.

The validation exercise will serve as a proving ground for soldiers from both armies, as they will be put through the paces of real-world operations.

This joint exercise would undoubtedly provide impetus to the two countries’ growing military and diplomatic relations, as well as reflect both countries’ strong commitment to counter-terrorism.
