The State Government has announced that classes for Undergraduate First Year students will be started in colleges in Gujarat from February 8.
Schools for 10th and 12th classes in Gujarat reopened on January 11 to allay fears of corona infection. The first schools for the 9th and 11th grades opened on February 1st. In addition, classes for Postgraduate and ancillary medical courses and final year undergraduate, PhD, and MPhil classes resumed on January 11.
In this context, the Gujarat government announced yesterday that it would allow Undergraduate first year classes to start from February 8. Primary Education Secretary Anju Sharma said the decision to start classes for second-year students would be taken in the interest of first-year and final-year students.
The State Government has announced that colleges in hostels must strictly follow the standard operating procedures provided by the State Education Department as colleges are gradually opening up. The standard operating procedures announced by the government should be such that students are at appropriate intervals. All gyms on campus must be open. Only two students should be allowed to stay in a room, and students must use their own water bottles.
