GPSC Medical Officer Exam Pattern:
Gujarat Public Service Commission has released the notification for the recruitment of 1075 vacancies of Medical Officer in its official site in February, 2021. Candidates who applied for this recruitment will be subjected to the prelims examination on 04.07.2021. Candidates who are going to attend the exam should know about the exam pattern. The patterns of the examination are provided below.
There are two phases for the selection process of Medical Officers. They are
- Written Exam
- Personality Test
Written Exam:
The written exam consists of two papers. Each paper will be held for 02 hours. Each paper contains 200 marks.

Personality Test:
The candidates who will be shortlisted through the written examination are eligible for the Personality Test. The personality test will contain 100 marks. Total Marks to be considered for Final Selection is 500 (written exam+ Personality test). The medium of written examination is English.

Physiology And Biochemistry
Neurophysiology of sensory receptors, reticular formation, cerebellum and basal Ganglia, Regulation of function of male and female gonads, including physiology of lactation and menstruation, Mechanical and electrical properties of the heart, ECG, Cardiac cycle, Regulation of cardiovascular function, Regulation of respiration, Absorption, Digestion, Metabolism of fats, carbohydrate and protein, Renal Function Tests, Urine Examination, stool examination.
Pathology And Microbiology
Principles of Inflammation, Principles of Carcinogenesis and Tumor spread. Markers in infective Hepatitis, Pathogenesis of Tuberculosis, Diagnosis of Tuberculosis, Immune system, Lifecycle and laboratory diagnosis Entamoeba, malaria, Culture media-types and uses, Immunity and immunology, Sterilization and disinfection, Bio-medical waste sources, health hazards, methods of collection and disposal of it.
