Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has announced that the first schools for Classes 9 and 11 will reopen on February 5.
Schools in the national capital, Delhi, have been closed since last March due to corona infection. Although schools and colleges have been opened in many states of the country since last October, the State Government has not issued any announcement about the reopening of educational institutions due to the high prevalence of the disease in Delhi.
The schools have been reopened since January 18 due to the imminent Board Exams for 10th and 12th class students. The Government had announced that students would not be required to register for attendance. But the Department of Education had announced that students coming to the school must buy a letter of permission from their parents.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has said that all 9th and 11th class colleges and diploma institutes in Delhi should be reopened from February 5 with appropriate immunization measures. And sending students to school is entirely a parent’s choice. He also said that students coming to school must come with their parents’ permission letter.
The Directorate of Education has notified the schools of the notification of the examination as the schools are reopening. Accordingly, schools will have to conduct the process exams for Class XI on their own from March 1. Schools must also complete internal assessment exams before the final exams. Season exams can be held from March 20 to April 15 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, the education official said.
