In Delhi’s Budget: Covid Shot Free In Government Hospitals: Dedicated provision of free Covid-19 vaccines to all, including those under the age of 60 who do not have significant co-morbid conditions, is one of the key features of Delhi’s health budget this year, according to sources in the Delhi government. Vaccination is currently underway in Delhi in 192 hospitals, 56 of which are operated by the Delhi Government, for people aged 60 years and older and those aged 45-59 years with co morbidities.
Sources in the Delhi Government said that the provision of free vaccination in government hospitals can be included in this budget session when the next step of vaccination for common people begins. In January 2021, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also suggested that free vaccines should be provided to Delhiites. On March 6, Delhi had the highest vaccination ever reported in a single day. A total of 33,287 people were vaccinated on Saturdays. On 6 March, 66% of vaccinations were registered in private hospitals in Delhi, while 34% of vaccinations were reported in government hospitals.
