So that students have worry and doubt about their future studies. By taking this in mind the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has released a new academic calendar.
What’s on this calendar?
This calendar for the year 2021-22 sets August 31 as the last date for completing the first round of engineering counseling. As per the calendar, the last date to conduct the second round of counseling is September 9. And the last date for commencement of classes for first-year students is September 15. Last year, the council gave time till November 30 to complete the counseling due to the pandemic.
According to Career consultant Jayaprakash Gandhi’s Point,
The entire academic year might get postponed due to the pandemic. He mentioned that “Even last year, they have to change the academic calendar many times. They should have waited for the situation to come under control and completion of the exams. Still, there is no clarity on when the exams will be conducted, how answer scripts will be evaluated. AICTE should have released the academic calendar during the Class XII examination”
A Principal opinion:
A private college principal said the present schedule was prepared without keeping the pandemic in mind. “They have issued their regular academic calendar for admissions. Given the current situation, they may have to revise it many times,” he said. However, the council extended the last date for the grant of affiliation by the university till July 15. As per the usual schedule, the universities need to give affiliation by May 15. Keep in touch with us for further updates regarding this.
